Theatre in London’s West End evacuated mid-show as cops cordon off area
A WEST End theatre has been evacuated today after a bomb threat, with cops and sniffer dogs seen swarming the scene.
Emergency services were scrambled to London’s Wellington Street this afternoon after the scare, seeing the area quickly taped off.
People who had been seeing a show at Lyceum Theatre took to social media to share their confusion after being hurried out onto the street.
Cop cars could be seen swarming the street.
Members of the Lion King cast were also evacuated and spotted at the pub.
Met Police told The Sun: “Cordons were put in place as a precaution following receipt of a bomb threat at a theatre in Wellington Street WC2 at around 1600hrs on Sunday, 23 July.
“The venue was searched and nothing found. Staff have returned and the incident has been stood down.”
